The Winter War, supposedlya while from now, of course the old man had different ideas and plots for the battle than waiting Aizens’ supposed move in the winter, or some shit like that. Kenpachi had not been paying much attention to the meeting previously in the 1st Division Captains meeting hall, his mind was else where. Generally around two thoughts, one being he hoped he did not miss his afternoon nap which he always took and the second was how powerful those Arrancar were. He had heard the reports of their releases, the overwhelming power that came with their mixture of Shinigami and hollow powers. He had to admit, it was exciting at the idea of playing with one of them, a strong one in any case. The first Espada was what he wanted to do battle with, after he had learnt they were ranked in series of power, it was like a meal on a platter for him, directing him exactly where to go. The strongest, always the strongest, he had no interest in pansy ass weaklings that could not swing a sword properly, a damn had he run into a fair few. Not like Ichigo, that brat was not bad. The 11th Division Captain turned his eyes to the window, his long hair spread over his pillow, his torso uncovered with one hand resting over his stomach while one leg sat resting over the other. It was still fairly light out in the courtyard, his afternoon nap had all but been complete. This was it for now, waiting and training for what was to come though he knew he would be more than enough to crush the Arrancar. Stirring from his bed, the Captain rolled to his feet and perched himself in front of his mirror to begin the long process of spiking his hair and placing the bells on the ends of them. It was always a long ass job but it was necessary for whatever battles were to come, simply part of his habit of giving his enemies a bit of a chance to last in battle, they always seemed to break way too easily if he didn’t hold back somewhat. Once his hair was completed, the Captain made for the exit, sliding the door closed behind him and strolling out into the courtyard. Kenpachi strolled down the various open corridors that connected the huge complex of Seireitei, it was a large and complicated system that he tended to simply kick through when reaching a dead end, was much easier and quicker than marching about for the right way. Dull.
A shinigami of his division shunpo’d to his side, down on one knee, his knuckles pressed into the ground. “Captain!” He respectfully yelled as he awaiting permission to speak. Even though his men were a rowdy bunch in the Gotei 13, they were far from disrespectful to Kenpachi of Zaraki “What the hell is it?” The Captain grumpily mumbled as he idly rubbed his ear with one finger. Even though he was shown the respect, he could not care less about that sort of behaviour. Part of him hoped that it was some sort of report concerning an attack, since this business with the Arrancar had been brought to light he had been itching to cut one of them. “Vice Captain Yachiru sent m-me… to inform you of her tea party this evening.” The Captain stared down the shinigami for some time after the ‘report’, his one eye showing a calm frustration as he glared. After a moment, Kenpachi moved on, his tattered Captain’s coat flowing past the shinigami as he didn’t reply. If the fights would not come to him, he would have to go to them though for the moment some tea did not sound like the worst idea.

Just another normal and peaceful day in soul society, thought Byakuya. Quite adjusted to the quietness after Aizen and the other rebels departed their world, he was in his squad's barracks when the vice-captain of the 11 division came strolling by his barracks to announce her regular tea party ceremony. She had always found a way to pop into Byakuya's barracks or even his mansion without his knowing, but he grew used to it and didn't really put any mind to it. Accepting the invitation he had take out a few rice cakes out and left them on his desk for Yachiru to have. The young lieutenant seemed to be fascinated with snacks and Byakuya always kept a healthy stack around for her, out of all people.
It was later in the day already and so he headed over to squad 11's barracks, she had mentioned one of the gardens inside so he proceeded to go in. Always causing a muffled sound of gasps and questions amid squad members whenever he passed around. Even with his eyes closed he was able to walk into the barracks and straight to the garden with ease, sensing Lieutenant Yachiru's spiritual pressure. As he approached her, he wondered for a split second who else would join them, he'd seen Captain Unohana and made Renji come once as well but chances where Yachiru would invite a bigger crowd this time.
"How long will we wait for the rest to come" he asked as he finally rested next to the lietenant patiently, eyes still closed.

The pink haired Vice Captain had recently gone to invite Byakuya to her gathering for tea and rice cakes. She usually bothered him when she felt like a snack or some sort of party she threw together once in a while, and he never seemed to mind it. She was aware Byakuya and Kenpachi did not get on like a house on fire either, but those sorts of relationships she always saw as silly, of course, she always looked at he positive side of any situation, there was joy to be found in everything. Yachiru hopped over buildings and flash stepped about Soul Society as she hunted down those to join her tea party. Stuffing invitations in every possible place she could find, before dashing back to the 11th Division Garden and plopping down onto a cloth that stretched out over the grass. Plates piled with rice cakes and other treats sat scattered about the cloth along with pots of tea and various different styled cups, one clearly made by Rukia with a bunny face painted on the side. Yachiru began to excitedly much away at everything she could reach, her small hands stretching and grasping her meals. The garden was filled with the 11th Division members now, chatting and laughing as they ate, following Kenpachis’ division code that fun always came before work. Just then, Byakuya arrived into the garden, gliding nobly as he always did, grace and elegance with a sense of command about him. Of course Yachiru ignored all of that, gazing over to Byakuya with her mouth filled with rice, and speaking happily, her arms waving. “Byakushi!” She said happily, taking a few rice cakes and thrusting them into his direction. “I invited everyone; they’ll be showing up soon” Though most people never got her invitations due to her habit of placing them in places they never looked, or even writing them on their backs much like she had done to Renji, Ikkaku and Iba at one point. She continued to much happily, repeatedly pushing rice cakes towards the 6th Division Captain.
Then was a thump from behind them, not too hard however, simply the sound of a man dropping down onto some wood. Though his spirit power was so immense it was likely everyone knew of his coming before he even arrived. Kenpachi sat on the edge of the wooden boards that connected the garden to the sliding doors of the Division interior, one foot propped up onto the wood, the other parked into the grass. In one hand a cup of tea raised to his lips as he took a sip, the other relaxed over his knee. He grinned in his malicious manner. “Ken-chan!” Yachiru yelled, waving to him. The Captain nodded to her as he relaxed. “Yachiru. Enjoying yourself? Even got the pretty boy to come again, damn sure loves your tea, eh, Kuchiki?” He said in a half joking manner, his brief grin fading as his back rested onto a wooden post. It was not long before others arrived he assumed, even in the midst of unsettling times most shinigami found the time to relax and collect themselves. He would have been lying if he said he was not a fan of Yachirus’ parties she loved to throw, now and again at least. He found himself napping through most of them.

Making himself comfortable he let Yachiru spring his plate with hoards of rice cakes even though he wouldn't have eaten a single one. Not because he didn't enjoy them but simply because he didn't desire them at the moment. His mood slightly tinged when he felt the surge of spiritual pressure behind him, it was undoubtedly the montrous Captain of the 11th squad and Yachiru knew better than to mingle these two men in the same place. "You wouldn't understand..." he replied rather sinically. He unlike the other Captain was seated on the grounds of the garden , sitting on top of his legs as they rested under him, hands on his lap along with a straightened back. Captain Zarachi wouldn't ever understand the plesant and yet therapeutic aesthism behind a tea ceremony. It wasn't just about enjoying a good cup of tea, but the entire ceremony in general was a formal ritual among noble families passed down, it was a tradition that a barbaric man like Kenpachi would never grip around. Byakuya couldn't even understand why it was he was there in the first place, it was the first tea ceremony he was part of where he noticed his presence.
Not to long after he felt the pressure of a familiar being, Rukia Kuchiki, he had made sure that this time she was part of the ceremony being that last time she wasn't around to participate. He felt obligated to teach Rukia the ways of the Kuchiki clan and part of a tea ceremony was just as crucial as anything else.
She had walked in rather shyly at first, noticing Captain Zarachi seated rather awkwardly at the entrance to the garden. She bowed in front of him before proceeding, being a bit timid in his presence being that he hardly ever spoke to the Captain of the 11th squad, and noticing her brother had already arrived. "Lieutenant Yachiru....Nii-sama... sorry for the late arrival I had a few last minute errands to attend to for Captain Ukitake" not really happy to give excuses knowing that Byakuya wouldn't be pleased to hear them, but it seemed the Captain of the 13th squad was again at bed rest and his duties were again starting to accumulate, so Rukia would stay to help him with his jobs. Byakuya, still keeping his concentrated expression with closed eyes, just used his hand to gesture her to sit next to him. She immediately sat next to him without hesitation, and a bit nervous be it that it was her first time at a tea ceremony. Yachiru appeared to be content as ever, stuffing her little face into everything in her grasp, she noticed Byakuya's rather overstuff plate and wondered if he had done that or if perhaps Yachiru did the pleasure herself. Not knowing the ritual way to act, or behave she just patiently waited, a bit lost.
"A tea ceremony calls for formality, not nervousness... you should stop worrying", at which Rukia looked up to Byakuya's rather stern glance, and awed at his words as he pointed exactly to her very emotions. "Nii-sama...sumimasen", putting her attention to the tea party she fixed her posture to match that of her brother's as she looked at Yachiru once more. "I guess I wasn't really late after all... and you happen to have the cup I made... I'm glad" she cheered with a small smile on her face.
