Eyes focused on the somewhat cloudy sky as he sat there with one leg pulled up to his chest, while the other lay outward in front of him. For once he wasn't responding to some ridiculous emergency or ludicrous chase for some rogue. This time, the Captain found himself simply on duty to observe Karakura town as the Rukia Kuchiki was currently called to Soul Society for various business involving the Thirteen Court Guard Squads as well as Central Forty Six. Whatever the matters were, they didn't seem important enough for him to receive a report other than the one informing him of his new mission directive.→ L etting out a gentle sigh, emerald eyes blinked for a moment as Toshiro placed a hand atop the shingles of the building he was on. His hand ran across the slightly bumpy surface for a moment before retracting his hand back away and setting it back across his lap. There was no need for his gigai as his mission wasn't directly associated with any humans. The white sleeveless haori of the Tenth Squad Captain fluttered in the breeze. The white tails flickered over the crest of the roof every so often before calming back down. Pressing his palm against the roof, the young Captain brought himself to his sandaled feet. He was about ready to move on to another section of Karakura and observe it.→ H e was somewhat surprised that a Captain of all people would be placed into this position, but perhaps there were reasons to it. He didn't question his orders necessarily, although rationale could perhaps suggest that many of the other Captains would be tied up for the moment and unable to assist in case of any disaster that may have struck Karakura. One thing that seemed to still be on his mind was Momo. His hands clenched for a moment before releasing as quickly as the anger came. The powerlessness he felt was overwhelming. Was there anyone to turn to? His lieutenant Rangiku maybe, but even then she may even laugh at the matter no matter how serious he might try to act. Of course he knew this would probably not be the case. Despite his lieutenant's personality and lazy attitude, she was very reliable to her duty, and especially to their Squad. Was there anyone else? Pondering this for a moment, Toshiro stood still upon the rooftop. It was a normal day, after school. A gentle breeze had been blowing, all day long. And the store was being tended to by his parents. Leaving Tokei an open afternoon to wander around town! He slid his Maroon Sunglasses onto his face, although he didn’t need to wear them, he felt comfort when he did. Spiritual Beings such as ghosts, and then Shinigami, as Rukia and Hotaru ‘explained’ to him were always around. But that meant Hollows would also be around. He was starting to grasp the basics of things now, after a week had passed since the Alley Encounter, he learned he could stop time, and was still working on how to summon a staff.
He shrugged it off, as another student passed by him, today he was going to relax, and have fun. And hopefully not get burdened with another encounter. But his luck was by far the worst. It wasn’t too bad, though, he was able to meet new people, and make a few friends. Tokei shrugged, as he turned a corner, and spotted a Shinigami on the apartment complex.
“Who the hell…?” He asked himself as he stopped in his tracks and stared at the Captain. Tokei recognized the white Robes on the kid. Raeko had them, and said he was a Captain, so it must mean that the person up there, was also a Captain.

His hands lay gently at his sides without moving one bit. The soft cloth of his haori touching his finger tips every so often as the breeze brushed the cloth against them. Out of curiosity, Toshiro drew his Shinigami Mobile Phone from his black top. Flipping the silver device open, emerald eyes glanced upon the shimmering blue display screen. The usual symbols and blips were there. The battery was good, no signs of hollows, only...one thing. Raising a snowy eyebrow, Toshiro noticed that there was a significantly spiritually aware being in his vicinity.→ C lasping the silver flip phone shut and placing it back into the top of his uniform, Toshiro glanced down in the general vicinity of where the map had pointed him to this individual's direction. Surely he must have been spotted by now and the question remained whether to stay or go. Being one for business first, Toshiro contemplated simply using flash step and vanishing from sight, however he hadn't just yet.→ W ithout further contemplation, the young Captain's curiosity got the best of him as the dropped down from the rooftop. His sandal laden feet impacted against the cement sidewalk gracefully as one knee gently touched the ground. His white spiky haired head rose to meet the individual before him. "I assume you can see me so lets cut the formalities. What are you doing walking around with such spiritual pressure? I could pick you out like a diamond amongst sapphires." The young Captain folded his arms as he awaited an answer. Tokei was surprised that the Shinigami had a cellphone, or at least something that looked like a cellphone. This Captain, went on about how he was easily able to find Tokei. Although the street was deserted except for the White haired Shinigami, and Tokei. It also was curious that this kid talked like he was older then he looked. And the jewelry example was more up Tokei’s alley of expertise, he ran into jewels with his family business frequently.
“I’m the only person on this street… Shinigami Sir. Besides, I’m kinda new to the whole Spiritual Pressure stuff. But if anything, Ichigo should be stronger…” He answered the Captain’s question. “So did Captain Raeko send you, he said my Time powers were unique. Also, Hotaru has been protecting me, so I’ve not really tried to learn how to hide it yet.”
The kid was confusing Tokei, why was he so demanding? It must because this white haired child was a Captain, or something like that. “You should work on your manners, just because you’re a captain, and I know you’re a Captain. Your White Haori is similar to those that Raeko wore when I met him.” Tokei stated, standing up to the kid. “Here in my world, at least to me, you’re an equal. I’m not part of your organization, so you can’t order me around.” His anger had gotten the better of him, as his watch’s mystical hand appeared and began to point to the alley.

"Actually...." Came the soft, yet firm voice of Raeko Ichinose as he seemed to materialize from the shadows of an alleyway not too far behind Tokei and to his left. "You might want to show a bit more respect to Captain Hitsugaya..." He finished, stepping into the light provided by the street lamps above them. His jet black hair hung across his face in messy disarray, and the white haori hung loosely on his athletic form, his toned arms revealed by the lack of sleeves on his uniform. The symbol for Squad 5 as well as the number stood out on the left side of his chest, marking him as the Captain. His face was expressionless as he took a few steps closer towards the two, his eyes reflecting nothing as well except for possible curiosity.
He'd been walking along, doing one of his normal patrolling routes when he'd heard his name catching on the breeze and it had drawn his curiosity, bringing him to the present situation where he found Tokei and surprisingly, Captain Hitsugaya. Raeko had never personally spoken with the younger Captain, never really having the chance to, considering the only time he'd run into him had been at the last few Captain's Meetings that he'd been forced to attend. He was still surprised at how many new faces had risen to seated positions since he'd left the Seiretei, but then again he had been gone for a long time and everything changed. However Raeko had spent a great deal of time analyzing the various Captains and their Lieutenants, watching their movements, mannerisms, facial expressions, every miniscule detail to try and learn as much as he could about them. From what he could tell, Captain Hitsugaya seemed like an honest man, then again so had former Captain Tossen.
"Captain Hitsugaya..." Raeko said in his same soft tone, though a respectful edge was present in his voice at this time, followed by a slight bow of his head. It wasn't necessary to bow to another Captain, nor to even call them by their formal names, but Raeko was a man of respect and tended to try and show it whenever he thought it was deserved. "He is right.... you're Spiritual Pressure is very open... I'm surprised you haven't been attacked so far..." He said simply, bringing both arms to cross over his chest as his dark eyes went between the two individuals. The air was alive with energy, and the night had been filled with Hollow appearances from nearly every direction, Raeko himself was plain testament to this fact as his haori was ripped and shredded in several places, and a plethora of cuts and scrapes littered his body, patches of dried blood standing out here and there. It was obvious he had been through a very long set of battles, though he didn't seem any worse for wear.
He let his eyes slip back to Toshiro for a moment, a curious expression crossing his features. "With all due respect, Captain Hitsugaya... why are you here...?" He asked simply, wondering why the Captain Commander had decided to send another Captain to Karakura Town when it was already filled with Shinigami and other Spiritual Beings. Raeko had made it a stipulation upon accepting the job as Captain of Squad 5 that he be allowed to stay in the World of the Living whenever he wasn't needed at the Seiretei, which sparked curiosity and even mockery by some of the other Captains, some of them just didn't understand the fact that Raeko would much rather be on the front lines doing his part, then sitting back and issuing orders for others to carry out.

This was no surprise to him, and to think that Soul Society or a Captain alone wouldn't be able to pick out more than just what was in eye view was slightly insulting. Despite this, Toshiro withdrew any verbal comment and simply let out a light sigh. "There is more than just you living in this city isn't there?" A white eyebrow rose for a second as the Captain kept his arms folded. The boy also mentioned another Captain, although he was rather unfamiliar with the man's personality himself. "I was not sent by another Captain but simply as a replacement for the time being. There is nothing else that you would need to know."→ I t really didn't surprise him that this human boy didn't know how to control his power, let alone spiritual pressure. It took time, but for a human, perhaps even more time. Toshiro wasn't there to babysit someone, even if Ichigo Kurosaki was causing some trouble as he normally did. Most of the time it was simply oversight by Soul Society, but many times the boy broke quite a few rules...too many for his own good at times. The boy had a bit of nerve to address his manners, however at least the human hadn't called him a child. That was perhaps his one saving grace this meeting."You might understand more if..." The young Captain couldn't finish his sentence before another voice broke the silence.→ U nfolding his arms as they dropped gently to his sides, emerald eyes glanced over to notice a presence in which even Toshiro had just now noticed. The young Captain made a mental note to not be so careless next time."I'm surprised your appearance here was not detailed in the mission briefing I received." Toshiro spoke calmly as his eyes glanced over to meet that of his fellow Shinigami. "Sending two Captains here seems careless." Toshiro kept his calm for the most part as Raeko made his entrance. His motives seemed to question himself of all people. If anything it should have been the other way around.→ T he paperwork must have been either late, or withheld as Toshiro had no knowledge of this Captain's assignment to the human world or his intentions for that fact. If anything he would have imagined his own duties were quite clear but this also seemed a mere fantasy. "I'm merely here on orders from Soul Society to replace Rukia Kuchiki's presence until she returns from her business in Soul Society." His words were clear cut, precise, and to the point. He wouldn't have it any other way.[/blockquote] ۩- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - word count » 440tagged » Tokei/Raekolyrics » 1000 words by jademuse » Above Averagenotes » Nonecredit » cookie [/blockquote]

“WAAAA!” Tokei jumped a foot when he heard Captain Ichinose’s voice from behind, all of the school books he held, fell to the ground. “Please don’t do that, Captain Raeko!” He asked, as he scrambled to pick up his school books. Being told to show respect, made Tokei all the more suspicious, it wasn’t the best way to meet a new person.
His watch could detect spiritual energy, as it just demonstrated, with the appearance of Raeko Ichinose. Captain Hitsugaya had been interrupted midsentence, and then began to talk to Raeko. It was a good as any chance to leave the area, and maybe try some of the tips Ichigo had given him. Tokei doubted he could become as strong as any of them, but he could try to blink less.
He hurried down the street, to at least put his school books away, and change into something more comfortable. As his watch began to show two purple hands, pointing away from the captains, and to the east. Something was coming…

Raeko watched Captain Hitsugaya as he spoke, detecting a keen level of intelligence in the young Captain's voice that most others would overlook if they weren't very observant. He shrugged his shoulders lightly at the fellow Captain's words however, "To be honest... they don't know where I am half the time. I prefer to stay in the World of the Living when I'm not needed at the Seiretei. However I wouldn't call it careless.... with the level of Hollow activity here lately, it's almost warranted." He said simply, bringing both of his toned arms to cross over his chest as he watched the white-haired Captain. He listened to his reasoning for being here and naturally Captain Ichinose thought it made sense, though he hadn't been aware that Rukia Kuchiki had even returned to the Seiretei.
"I see...." He said simply. The truth was the only contact he regularly kept with the Seiretei was with his Lieutenant Hinamori and his subordinates. He kept constant tabs on them and their training schedules, wanting to make it known that he was there for them whenever they needed him, even if he was in the World of the Living, he could return very easily. His dark eyes slipped to the side as he watched Tokei beginning to slip away, imagining that it was probably awkward being around two Captains when he knew little to nothing of the duties of a Soul Reaper.
Suddenly his entire body went tense as his eyes snapped in the opposite direction, towards where Tokei's watch hands would be pointing. A sharp intake of breath followed as he could feel two very powerful Hollows coming towards them, that or it was two large groups of Hollows, either way it was about to make the night a great deal more interesting. His right hand slipped down to the hilt of his zanpakuto, though he waited to draw it, knowing that the moment the enemy showed up he would unleash into them, but for the moment he chose to wait for their arrival. He shot his eyes towards Tokei's previous position, though discovering he was no where to be found. "Damnit.... where the hell did he go...?" He asked, knowing the Hollows would most likely be going after Tokei first, as he was the weakest of the three of them.
(Sorry it sucks, kind of rushed.)

A nagging feeling in the back of his head you could say. His attention returned to the Captain with him as he explained his situation. Toshiro quietly listened before giving his feed back. It was obvious Tokei was the target. To the Shinigami at least, but Tokei didn’t thing about that, he was able to use his ability. Just if he knew how to call his weapon, it’d be even better. He rushed away, from the Shinigami. He may have been saved by them, but that didn’t give them the right to demand respect from someone outside of their society. They must earn it.
Preoccupied with avoiding the Shinigami, he had his watch obscured by his books, making him unaware of the incoming Hollows… That was until they issued their bellow, spotting their prey. The bellow belonged to only two hollows, which were insects in appearance. They were Centipedes, and it was obvious they were twins.
There could possibly be more Hollows but these two were the ones that grabbed his attention. He dropped his books and rolled out of the way of a Hollow's attack. The watch glowed purple as he clenched his hand, somehow summoning his staff. Tokei was ready to fight, even if he was told not to by the Shinigami.

“Where the hell is he?” Hotaru mumbled as she walked by the streets of Karakura town, looking around to see if she could spot Tokei anywhere. It was unbelievable how she had lost him so easily; she had gone away only for 10 minutes to take a breath and when she came back…he was gone! She had roamed the whole school to see if she could find him, but he was nowhere to be found; Hotaru couldn’t even find Ichigo or Rukia to ask them if they had seen Tokei. She didn’t have another option but wander until she found him; just when she thought she could get a little rest. ” I swear that when I find him…” She muttered under her breath while showing her fist to no one in particular. Suddenly her phone rang. Hotaru got it out of the hidden pocket in her hakama. Another hollow had appeared…great…like if she needed something else to worry about; at least the hollow wasn’t that far from where she was. “Ughhhh…Tokei will be fine, he can stay by himself for a little while” She thought as she begun running in the direction the phone pointed. It wasn’t long before she felt two spirituals pressures that came from where the hollows presumably were. There were way too noticeable, and quite unusual to find them together; Captain Ichinose and Captain Hitsugaya. There had to be a good reason why two captains were in one single place…when she approached more she felt the hollows presence, they weren’t normal hollows, but yet it wasn’t enough reason to explain why the captains were there.
The next presence she noticed surprised her and at the same moment made her grew anxious. Tokei was there too.
She immediately hurried her pace to reach them as soon as possible, even if two captains were there and it a sure thing that they could handle easily those hollows she couldn’t help but to be worried. She jumped to the roof of the nearest building; if she jumped through the building she wouldn’t take that long to meet them. Finally she was just a few meters, she could feel that Tokei was below the next building; her hand moved to the hilt of her zanpakuto and unsheathed it in a swift move. “Soar in the last night, Hyouga Tsubasa” She called while jumping the last building. She reached the edge of it and looked down to find Tokei and two hollows that looked exactly the same; like two centipedes. One of them charged against him, luckily he dodged the attack. Hotaru wasn’t going to wait for the other hollow to attack, she immediately brandished her sword in her shikai mode and with that move all of the parts that composed her zanpakuto lunged for the second hollow with all of her strength; connecting with its body and forcing it to back off some distance.
